VACATION: DAY3

theme of the day:

gray. rain. bike.

got to see more people. good conversations. more confusing, though. team 1 is trying to leave (for ithaca! good choice, couldn't agree more w/ the town). team 2 says canada sounds great, why do i want to leave. good point team 2. why do i want to leave?

team 3. i ended the night w/ team 3 and a guest from out of town. guest reminded me of all the political lines involved everywhere... all the navigation... she's in academia--and making new media (she likes the term time-based to describe what we do... hmm, i'll have to sit on that one for a while). it really is the best place to keep doing work. i like the idea. i think it's a great idea.

and a good life. fuck, it got her in nyc for 6 months paid for by a grant.

anyway... lots to think about. made me feel better about my life. it's funny how you have to step away to get perspective on it all.

oh yahhhh.... went to the brooklyn museum of art. saw the annie liebovitz and ron mueck. really liked the ron mueck. especially the tiny baby hanging on the wall. whew. then walked into the liebovitz... and the death of susan sontag. and the masacres of rhwanda and sarajevo. side by side w/ jonny depp, colin powel, demi moore, etc... america at it's core.

biked my old route from prospect heights to williamsburg. except this time i did it on a single speed. the rain didn't bother me until i biked back to prospect heights, had dinner @ franny's, and had to put the soggy fleece back on. yuck. that was sucky.

but i survived!

and now it's time to move on to day 4...
